Pavers are gaining in popularity every year. They are a beautiful and durable way to pave a driveway. Pavers also make stunning patios and paths. Our concrete utility brick is an economical way to create paths, patios and much more.
Surface soil retention is very important in areas of Colorado and surrounding states where the soil is sandy and exposed to water flow. Our sod block is a great solution to problem areas around foundations, on paths or slopes. They are often used as a surface to park recreational vehicles on or for use as a fire lane between buildings.
Patio Block Products
We have a large selection of patio stones including squares, rectangles, slabs, rounds and exposed aggregate. Our squares, rectangles and rounds come in the greatest variety of sizes and colors available anywhere.
If it's edging you need, we have a couple of options from the traditional garden border to lawn edgers. With a little creativity there are several ways to edge a yard with some of the products we have in our other categories.
Retaining Wall Products
We are the proud manufacturer of a variety of retaining wall systems, including Paragon Retaining Wall Systems, Pyzique Retaining Wall Systems, and our own retaining wall system, the Cuesta. Both the Paragon and the Cuesta Retaining Wall Systems are "core-fill" systems. Core fill systems are stabilized by adding crushed rock to inside of the block. The crushed rock works its way thru the wall and ties the whole wall together. The beauty of this design is the ability to turn corners both directions and flexibility of "set back" (placement of block further back on the block below anchoring the wall towards embankment). Installers have opportunity for creativity without impairing the wall's structural integrity.
The Pyzique Retaining Wall System is, by our estimation, the neatest little landscape block on the market today. Instead of having the "lip" on the back of the block it has a split face just like the front of the block. This allows the block to be used in a number of landscaping projects including retaining walls, fences, stairs, columns, edging and anything else you can think of. Structural Block Products
We have a full line of structural block in both concrete and lightweight. We stock gray 4", 6", 8", 10", 12" block and the fitting to match. We will run special order jobs in any color if the order is large enough.
Decorative and Functional Products
St. Vrain Block is one of few companies that still offer a screen block. Decades ago, these decorative block were used to make fences or they were placed on the ground with flowers growing from the spaces in the block. They were commonly seen in first time apartments and college dorm rooms as the horizontal support for makeshift book shelves. For a nostalgic feel, check out our 399 screen block.
We also manufacture planter block that looks great with plants and flowers growing from them. Our splash block is reinforced and really heavy duty. The car stops we make are great for residential driveways and garages. The pocket block's purpose is to make building your own deck easier. The block is designed to hold the 4" x 4" vertical support in your deck. They are also placed under the 2" x 4" horizontal support to add greater integrity to the deck. Of course, pocket block is not limited to decks, it can be used anywhere a 4" x 4" post needs to be supported.
