Company Profile

Our 35-acre property allows us the space to maintain large inventories, which means there is a good chance we will have the quantity you need when you need it. Our dealers have come to depend on receiving their orders within the same week it was placed.

Some of our products are hand stacked. Shown above are rows of Lawn Edgers ready for banding.

The above photo shows the block being delivered from our automatic cuber. The pallets are then banded and brought to the yard.

We enjoy a good laugh while collecting information and photos for our loyal customers. We take pride and pleasure in serving you.

Solar Ballast Block

St. Vrain Block is excited to introduce our Solar Ballast Block products. Solar panels in zero-penetration, flat-roof applications require ballast weight to secure the panel to the roof.

We manufacture several sizes and weights of products that are specifically designed for the strict quality requirements of the solar panel industry.

High compressive strength and density combined with low absorption are important to the long-term durability of the concrete.

Lower-quality concrete will deteriorate in under a decade due to the aggressive freeze/thaw environment that the roofs and the ballasts create.

Our products surpass the requirements of ASTM C1491 for compressive strength, density and absorption. They also exceed the ASTM C1262 requirements for freeze/thaw durability.

We are the preferred supplier for many solar panel installers and manufacturers. Please contact us today to learn more about the products we are making for the solar panel industry.

Providing Expert Service Since 1946

St. Vrain Block began producing concrete products in Hygiene, Colorado in 1946. In 1953, St. Vrain Block merged with Concrete Silo Stay Company.

Concrete Silo Stay Company had been established in 1914 and manufactured curved block used to build grain silos. Some of these silos can still be seen today throughout the area. However, most have retired from grain storage and remain a tribute to their aesthetic and historic quality.

The new St. Vrain Block operations were moved to Third Street in Longmont, Colorado supplying concrete products and curved block to the growing commercial and agricultural community for 22 years.

On April 1, 1975, Dan Ryan purchased St. Vrain Block. He immediately diversified the company by adding patio stones, pavers, edging and other landscaping block to the product line. St. Vrain had branched outside the structural and masonry world and offered the first manufactured concrete products to retail stores, landscapers and homeowners in Colorado and surrounding states.

In 1980, St. Vrain Block moved to their current location in Dacono, Colorado. This move signified a great opportunity for St. Vrain.

The 35-acre facility allowed larger inventories to be maintained with easy access to the I-25 corridor.

St. Vrain Block had successfully grown into its new facilities while offering its excellent tradition of service to a new market of clients.
